Web Authoring - CSS

I am designing pages using CSS for formatting and positioning these days. I use external pages with the very occasional internal or inline coding. Like many other designers, I have found that CSS can be a very powerful tool. There are many reasons to use CSS. From simple rules to format the text and other elements, to full CSS layouts, without tables, I have a good understanding of many of the advantages of using it as well as a solid knowledge of how to code it and how to apply it.

Full CSS layouts, fixed or/and image backgrounds, transparency, slide down menus, flyout menus, dropline menus, roll-over buttons without images or JavaScript inserted in an external style sheet, are amongst some of the tasks I can perform with CSS. Of course, there are many other more common tasks too. All in all, I do not believe there is any point nowadays in coding your pages in the old HTML way, since CSS can and will make your pages look good and download considerably faster and it has good support in the vast majority of the browsers available nowadays. I always aim to validate my pages for XHTML and CSS with the W3C validators.

I am very keen on coding CSS for anyone who might need that service and I would easily extend that service to coding the XHTML needed to go with it in order to finalise the page/site. I can design a whole web site, implement it, optimise it and test it and finally connect it following a Photoshop mock-up design for instance. There are far too many things that can be achieved with CSS and I have used many in this Web site and the templates provided on the Portfolio page. You will also find on that page a wide sample of different full CSS menus. If you have any queries or want to provide some feedback on these designs, please do contact me.
