You can link a video file just exactly the same way as we have linked the mp3 files. As soon as you click the link, it is activated and the file will open with the default media player and it will start playing.

Watch video "Silver" by rock band "A hundred reasons".

I have chosen this video because it is one of my all time favorites. I hope you like it. Below, you have the embedded version. Get QuickTime

If anything, I like this way of embedding the video more. Thus, the video is a part of the layout and you can set it again so users with the Quicktime Pro version will not be able to download your video on their hard drives. Notice that this way on embedding uses the <embed> tag, and therefore will not validate for XHTML, as this tag is not a part of the XHTML specification, and it is not standard-compliant. Flash is probably the best and most used choice for the Web when it comes to videos. Besides, even though it does also originally use the <embed> tag, we have been able to find a way to make it work in all main browsers, without this tag, and so, pages can be validated. If you are concern about validating your pages, which I believe is a good thing in all, we can now validate Flash videos and animations, normally known as Flash movies.

The streaming and compression facilities provided with Flash are very good and it is not a surprise to see that it has become a widely used way of displaying videos on the net. With Flash, you can also choose the player you use from a wide selection of cool designs provided by the program. Below, the same video has been embedded using Flash CS3.
